Leap
of Faith |
|
 |
Have
you ever asked yourself, "What am I doing here? Is this the job that
God wants me to do for the rest of my life?" And if you did ask yourself
the question, how did you resolve the issue? Did you pass it off with a
glib answer excusing yourself by saying that this is what life has dealt
you and there is nothing you can do about it? |
There
really is an alternative to all of this. It's a choice you make. And the
choice is made much more easily when you put yourself in God's hands. When
you make yourself available, Gods miracles begin to happen and what
you thought was impossible suddenly becomes a reality. |

and Director, Adventist Volunteer Center. |
Thousands
before you have taken that leap of faith and have testified that it was
the best decision of their lives. Their only regret was that it took so
long for them to trust God enough to let Him lead. Could it be that God
wants to take you off the treadmill of life right now and lead you into
overseas volunteer service? |
|
Let
me share with you just some of the blessings that flow your way when you
commit your life, even for a short time, as a missionary. Your walk with
God becomes a living and vital experience; your missionary vision takes
on a global perspective; your gifts come clearly into focus; you make new
friends; and you become filled with an immense amount of joy in your heart. |
|
And
the benefits are not all yours. If you could only perceive how far your
influence might reach, you would be astounded. Most likely your home church
will receive reports of your work and will be encouraged by what you are
doing. Your fellow members back home will pray for you, and as they hear
of your success they will be encouraged to give more in tithes and offerings.
They will become excited about "mission" and will catch a vision
of what can be done in the mission field at home and abroad.Statistics prove
it. Short-Term Evangelical Missions (STEM 1993:8) states, "A structured,
short-term mission has tremendous possibilities for increasing involvement
back home. Mission related support activities were found to increase 64%....". |
|
And
then there is the overseas mission field which stands to gain as well from
your presence. The field where you serve as a volunteer missionary will
be blessed. The people will be exposed to your caring and interest. They
will gain a new perspective on the world outside and will receive spiritual
and material aid which they would otherwise never know about. And there
is the beautiful potential of saving a soul for the kingdom. |
|
So,
how about it? Are you ready to put yourself in God's hands and let Him take
you on the most exciting journey of your life? Now is the time to take that
leap of faith! |
