A young man said a quick prayer and went to bed. In his sleep he had a dream:
He saw two sets of footprints in the sand walking toward one another. He traced the paths of the footprints to the place where they met. He saw Jesus. The other person, a young man, had his back to him. Jesus showed him a piece of paper which read: new car, nice house, good wife, bless my parents, forgive me that I don’t really have time for you in my life right now. Jesus walked on, weeping as He headed down the beach, leaving a trail in the sand for others to follow. The other figure kept on his own path and soon disappeared in the mist, his footprints washed away by the waves of the sea.
The young man awoke covered with sweat as he realized that what was on the paper that Jesus held were the things he’d said in his prayer before going to bed. He rolled out of bed, got down on his knees and prayed that Jesus would show him what to pray for and how to live. Soon the young man fell asleep and had another, similar dream.
He saw two sets of footprints in the sand walking toward one another from opposite directions. He traced the paths of the footprints to the place where they met. Again he saw Jesus, but this time he realized that the young man was himself. Jesus showed him a piece of paper which read: Muhammed Khan, Pawan Kumar, Santosh Raj, Thimbuk Ri, Ali Bhutto, Rajiv Patel, Gyueng Shi-po, Jyoti Ceema, Jang Li and a long list of other names that he could not pronounce. He asked Jesus who these people were. Jesus replied that these were His children, and that He would use him to bring them into His kingdom if he would leave his dreams, take up His cross and follow Him.

The young man turned and followed the path of Jesus. Soon their footprints were joined by another, and then others, and still more, and more... The young man turned to Jesus and asked who these people were. Jesus smiled and said, “These are those who will love Me throughout eternity, for you learned how to pray and to live.” As the young man turned to the group that joined in the heavenly procession, he saw each individual look at him and cheerfully call, “Dhanayavad,” “Gracias,” Shokuria,” “Nandri” and other words he did not recognize. Again he turned to Jesus and asked what they were saying. Jesus broadly smiled and said, “They’re saying, ‘Thank you!’”
